About

Linda Cole-Taylor works with teenagers, adults, and couples experiencing a range of mental health challenges. Her clinical work is grounded in developmental psychology, neuroscience, attachment theory, and existential inquiry. This foundation encourages the process of learning, questioning, reflecting, and improving one's perspective over time. Dr. Cole-Taylor began her career in academia, where she valued strong relationships with teens, families, and their communities. Her teaching and research led her to become a Professor of Education and Director of Educational Programs at both Yale University and Barnard College at Columbia University. In these roles, Linda led teams in under-resourced communities domestically and internationally with a focus on social justice and equity. Linda’s experience in both education and therapeutic clinical work equips her with specialized knowledge of environmental and cultural considerations, family systems, and schooling. Whether in an academic or therapeutic setting, Linda strives to know her clients well and appreciates the vulnerability involved in sharing one’s personal narrative. She approaches each individual with empathy, dignity, and a desire for others to feel safe, understood, confident, and hopeful for positive change. Dr. Cole-Taylor has specialized clinical training in Trauma-Focused CBT, Gottman Method, Complex Trauma with victims of Sex Trafficking, and Grief and Bereavement.
